Suet is a solid adipose tissue surrounding the waist and kidneys of animals such as sheep and cattle, and is provided as a high nutritional food for birds. So those who enjoy watching the birds in the garden see the birds fly and eat while leaving Suet in the feeder.
However, Suet is not only a bird, but also an attractive food for squirrels. When squirrels come in, they can devour all of them. Of course, squirrels can be nice guests too, but if you expect to see birds and have them, you may be disappointed.
Expert Dan Gleason said in a daily Resistor Guard that "if you put peppers in Suet, you can chase squirrels." This is because squirrels tend to avoid spicy flavors.
On the other hand, birds do not avoid suet because they have pepper, and actually eat red pepper.
In addition, when a bird eats red pepper, the red pepper seeds pass through the digestive tract of the bird and settle on the ground scattered. Pepper seeds that birds have excreted are known to have a germination rate 370 times higher than those that do not.
Putting peppers in suet not only chases squirrels, but it also helps to enrich the garden.
