Piglets prefer a brand new toys, according to a study.
Researchers at the Institute of Pork Nutrition and Cognition at the University of Illinois in the United States have experimented with the effects of certain time delays on the pig's memory for previously known objects.
The researchers gave the puppies 3-4 weeks old to play with toys, and after a certain period of time, they gave the original toys and new toys together.
Studies have shown that all young pigs immediately responded to new toys than previous ones.
Steven Fleming, a Ph.D. student in the Department of Animal Neuroscience at the University of Illinois, said that because pigs are actually smarter than dogs and that the pig's brain is remarkably similar to the human brain, neuroscientists often experiment with models of the pig's brain.
This test is used as the basis for studies to determine whether future dietary supplements or nutritional deficits affect behavior or neurology.
