CNN quoted the World Health Organization as saying it could be categorized as an indication of mental health impairment if the video games were too much from 2018, citing the 11th International Disease Classification (ICD) draft.
In the report, WHO described "gaming disability" as a "mental health impairment" pattern of "persistent or repetitive" behavior patterns that would cause significant disability in key areas such as personal, family, social, educational, and occupational areas.
According to the WTO announcement, a video game must be played for at least a year to be diagnosed as a gaming disorder. However, if symptoms are severe, you can be diagnosed in less than one year.
The International Classification of Diseases (ICD), released this week, helps medical professionals diagnose and categorize health conditions. A WHO spokesman, Gregory Hart, said the international disease classification included "gaming hurdles," allowing health care professionals to make an official diagnosis.
"By including gaming disorders in the International Classification of Diseases, there has been a way for health care and resources to be considered for the prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of the disability," he said.
However, the spokesperson defines the condition, but added that the classification is still limited because the prevention and treatment are not specified.
